Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed

Jared Diamond is the man! Every chapter has been fascinating, clear, and compelling. From his apparent self-awareness to his breadth of knowledge, I'm constantly amazed by his writing.

Interesting book. It seems that he address the collapse as being part monitary and environmental, but I don't think that is always the case. It seems looking back on many cultures and societies that have failed or flourished, it waas more of a fact of how well they could integrate new ideas. Did they stand their ground with the "old ways" or did they accept new ideas and information. The ones that were openand more accepting flourished and the ones that stood their ground becasue this is the way it has been done for hundreds of years tend to die out. I'll have to give this book a peruse.

I don't finish books all that quickly, most of my reading time is while eating, and I find myself otherwise occupied these days during meals (like, actually having company, either a human being or sadly quite often my laptop).

But there's no law requiring frequent blogging, is there!

Another reason why I need a laptop. I can blog while doing everything else!!

Oh, here is a book reccomendation for you. I can't for the life of me remember the auther's name, but the title of the book is called "The Eight". Most of the book is intriguing. Quite accurate on some accounts...but then it gets to the end and becomes well, somewhat formulaic. But a fun and nice read that covers alot of fields.
